Introduction

Stagebound ("we", "our", "us") operates the stagebound.app website and the Stagebound casting management platform (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access the Service.

Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including: your name, email address, profile information (for performers: headshots, resumes, physical attributes, skills, and training history), organization details, and any other information you choose to provide.

We automatically collect certain information when you use the Service, including: device information, browser type, IP address, pages visited, time spent on pages, and other usage data. We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to collect this information.

When you check in to an audition via QR code, we collect your name, email, and optionally a headshot. This information is shared with the casting organization hosting the audition.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to: provide, maintain, and improve the Service; process audition check-ins and manage casting pipelines; send you notifications related to your auditions and casting activity; communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and support messages; monitor and analyze usage patterns and trends.

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We share your information only in the following circumstances: with casting organizations you check in to or are added to (they see your performer profile, headshot, and audition data); with service providers who assist us in operating the Service (hosting, email, payment processing); when required by law, regulation, or legal process; to protect the rights, property, or safety of Stagebound, our users, or the public.

Casting organizations are responsible for their own use of performer data within their workspace. Each organization operates as a separate data controller for the performer data they collect through the Service.

Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

Casting organizations may retain performer data in their workspace according to their own retention policies. When an organization deletes data, it is soft-deleted and permanently removed after 30 days.

Your Rights (CalOPPA Compliance)

Under the California Online Privacy Protection Act (CalOPPA) and similar regulations, you have the right to: know what personal information we collect about you; request access to your personal information; request correction of inaccurate information; request deletion of your personal information; opt out of the sale of personal information (we do not sell your data); not be discriminated against for exercising your privacy rights.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@stagebound.app. We will respond to your request within 30 days.

Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies to maintain your session and preferences. We use analytics cookies to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings.

We do not use third-party advertising cookies. We do not track you across other websites.

Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, row-level security policies, and regular security audits.

No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete such information.

Performers between 13 and 18 may use the Service with parental or guardian consent, as is standard in the performing arts industry.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Your continued use of the Service after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Privacy Policy.
